First snow on Praděd (by František Kučera)

First snow on Praded

This shot of Hrubý Jeseník (Altvatergebirge or Hohes Gesenke in German, High Ash Mountains in English, and Jesionik Wysoki in Polish) was taken at dawn, looking north-west from the town of Bruntál. With its 1491 meters above sea level, Praděd (Grand-grandfather or, in German, Altvater) is the highest point of Moravia (Czech Republic). The tower on its top is a TV communications center, while some of the surrounding slopes are equipped as a ski resort.
