In late November I have moved all my cactuses from the outdoors garden into an unheated room in my house and stopped watering them. They stayed in front of a balcony window, receiving daylight through a white curtain. Today I noticed, to my great surprise, that a mammillaria is blooming with one beautiful open flower and a number of closed buds.

For mid-February, I have found this very unusual.
By coincidence, today is the anniversary of my mother's death - might it be that she is trying to send me a message?
